Epic war and campaign againts Drugs

For many years, drugs have been one of the most biggest problems in the Philippines to the present day. One of these drugs are currently abused among the users is known as "Shabu". These is one of the statements said by the current president Rodrigo Duterte saying that he will not stop until every last drug lord/pusher and users will be wiped out as the drugs are flooding in the Philippines during the Aquino administration. In the beginning of his presidency, he started the campaign and war againts drugs. He ordered his PNP chief Ronald Dela Rosa to the policemen that to kill any drug user and pusher or to surrender to the "Oplan Tokham" before its is too late.

As the campaign againts drugs continues, the Comission on Human Rights have been alarmed of the reports of the processes of killing criminals during the campaign againts drugs. Extrajudicial killings are illegal liquidations, unlawful or felonious killings in the Philippines. These are one of the concerns that is a violation to human Rights.

In the Senate hearing yesterday august 23 2016 on extrajudictial killings, The CHR chairperson Chito Gascon stated that the International Criminal Court (ICC) may possibly assume jurisdiction over the extrajudicial and vigilante killings of suspected drug dealers if the Philippine government fails to address the issue. The ICC may only exercise jurisdiction where national legal systems fail to do so, including where they purport to act but in reality are unwilling or unable to genuinely carry out proceedings," the ICC said in its informal expert paper on the principle of complementarity in practice.
